Description |
Framed map of North America. The map shows North America and parts of South America, Greenland and Russia (including the territory that is now Alaska). Part of present-day British Columbia, including Vancouver Island, is shown as belonging to the United States. Similarly, Mexico's northern border extends beyond its modern boundaries. The map shows Canada's Arctic coast and Arctic islands only partly defined. Elevation is shown with hachures. Latitude and longitude (measured west from Greenwich) are shown along the edges.
