Description |
The map shows part of Quebec (Canada East) and adjoining parts of New Brunswick and the United States. An inset map shows New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Colour is used to delineate regions. Rivers, lakes and elevations along the St. Lawrence River are mapped in detail. Elevation is shown by hachures. Falls along Saguenay River tributaries are marked in feet. The map has a bar scale in American miles, and below the scale, a legend explaining the markings used for railroads, canals, capitals, important towns and common towns. The inset has its own bar scale in miles. It addition to the Maritime provinces, the inset shows the Magdalen Islands and parts of Maine and the Gaspe. Around the egdes, it has lists of the numbered counties of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton. The map has lines of latitude and longtitude (measured from Greenwich) with values given around the edges, inside a decorative border. James W. Macnutt Collection.
