Description |
This is a map of the Americas with the northwestern part of North America left undefined. It shows more large lakes to the west of the Great Lakes and a river route to the Pacific, which was believed to exist. Elevation is shown with hachures. Stippling is used to show fishing banks off the east coast of Newfoundland. The map has 16 sailing ships placed throughout the oceans. The title appears within an illustrated cartouche in the lower left. The map is placed between panels of text on either side. James W. Macnutt Collection.
